No, that's not my picture.  Yes, I'm a woman.  Yes, I spell my first name with a period.  Yes, my name really is Mel... (it's Latin for "sweet" or "honey.")

I love to draw, I love to write, I read voraciously and I adore comic books and graphic novels.  I love to play computer games (World of Warcraft, but also Minecraft and a bunch of other things.)  I'm terrible at math but find it fascinating -- luckily I'm married to a mathematician.

I'm on my fifth... or maybe sixth... career as an adjunct professor, teaching various cultural anthropology topics, including ancient Egypt.  I'm a retired computer geek and also teach computer classes.
